Machining and processing
CETRIS can be sawn, drilled, milled and sanded on ordinary woodworking machines. Saw blades and cutters must be carbide; HSS bits are fine for drilling.
The boards are worked like timber but with carbide tools. They can be cut, drilled, milled and sanded. Surface-finished boards (PROFIL FINISH, AKUSTIC FINISH, LASUR, PROFIL LASUR) are handled with care so the finish is not damaged.
- Cutting: carbide or diamond blades, optimal cutting speed 30–60 m/s. Surface-finished boards are cut from the back; clean and seal the cut edge straight away.
- Drilling: HSS bits. Surface-finished boards are normally drilled from the face side.
- Milling: half-lap, tongue and groove, and chamfered edges — mind the board’s minimum thickness.
- Sanding: PDB floor boards are factory-sanded to ±0.3 mm; hand-sand with 40–80 grit.
Factory processing available to order
- Longitudinal, cross or diagonal cutting from the 3,350 × 1,250 mm base format. Rectangular formats range from 50 × 50 mm to 1,225 × 3,325 mm.
- Pre-drilled and countersunk holes to the customer’s drilling plan.
- Half-lap, tongue-and-groove or chamfered edges. BASIC can be milled from 12 mm for half-lap joints and from 16 mm for tongue and groove.
- Full-surface sanding of CETRIS PDB to a thickness tolerance of ±0.3 mm.
Machining creates fine cement dust. Use extraction, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection. Always follow the current safety and processing instructions for the product.
