FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to the questions buyers and specifiers most often ask before selecting and ordering.
What is a cement-bonded particle board?
A cement-bonded particle board is pressed from wood chips, Portland cement, water and hydration additives. The cement provides resistance to moisture, fire and dimensional change, while the wood chips make the board lighter and easier to machine than solid cement. CETRIS is used as a building board in walls, floors, roofs, facades and fire-protective assemblies.
How does CETRIS differ from plasterboard, fibre cement and OSB?
CETRIS combines the durability of cement with the workability of wood. It is heavier and harder than plasterboard or OSB, but resists moisture and impact better. Fibre cement may reach a higher reaction-to-fire class and come in thinner sheets, while CETRIS often suits jobs that need reliable fixing, stiffness and a robust substrate at the same time.
Can CETRIS be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes. The right CETRIS board can be used in dry, humid and weather-exposed assemblies. The choice depends on the application, finish, thickness, fixing and joint design. The board is still only one part of the construction: ventilation, edge treatment, movement joints and the supporting frame must be designed for the conditions it will face.
Are all CETRIS boards non-combustible (A2-s1,d0)?
No. Standard untreated boards such as BASIC, PD, PDB, PDP, PROFIL and AKUSTIC are classified A2-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1. ECO boards and surface-finished boards are B-s1,d0. The class describes the board as a material; it is not the fire resistance (EI/REI) of a wall or floor, which applies to the complete assembly.
How do I get a price and lead time?
We do not publish list prices, because the price depends on board type, thickness, format, processing, quantity and delivery location. Send a quote request with the information you already have. If the product is not decided yet, describe the function and application, and we will help you choose a board and come back with price and lead time.
Where can I find data sheets and design resources?
Each product page links to a technical data sheet in English and Swedish and to the manufacturer’s original documents. The technical library collects data sheets and BIM tools for architects and specifiers. Always check the current declaration of performance, data sheet and system solution before specifying a board in project documents.
